Can I buy tobacco leaf to manufacture into smoking tobacco?

Yes. Our tobacco leaf is from reputable growers and suppliers. The leaves are a combination of flavours, specially sourced for smoking pleasure. 

 

 

Can I buy tobacco leaf for personal use?

 

Yes. Our tobacco leaves only require manufacture by the client (cutting or shredding) into a smokeable form.

 

 

 

Can I resell the tobacco leaves?

 

Yes. You can resell the tobacco leaf but it is your responsibility to ensure that you do it legally and that you inform your client of their duty responsibilities.

 

 

Do I need to pay duty?

 

Raw tobacco leaves are not dutiable when moved inside the EU. If you cut or shred the leaves into a smokeable form, they then become dutiable which is required to be paid to HMRC. For full details and advice for tobacco duty, please refer to Notice 476 published by HMRC.

 

 

How do I pay duty?

 

Duty on cut or shredded tobacco leaf is to be paid to HMRC immediately prior to the process using a TP7A form. This form, along with payment advice can be find via the HMRC website.

 

 

How much duty is due on my tobacco?

 

The current dutiable amount on smokeable hand rolling tobacco is £172.74/kg. This figure is accurate at time of publishing, however changes annually in March at the time of the UK budget. It is the clients responsibility to continually check for updates and ensure their duty payments are accurate.  

 

 

Where can I seek additional information on tobacco leaf and products?

 

Whilst we aim to provide as much information and advice as we can, we are not a legal entity. Further advice, if required, should be sought from a reputable law firm or directly from HMRC, Trading Standards and the Tobacco Manufacturers Association (TMA).  

 

 

How should I store my tobacco?

 

It is recommended to store your tobacco in an air and moisture tight container, especially for long periods of storage. Avoid storing you tobacco in or near to extreme sources of temperature (hot and cold) and avoid direct sunlight. Do not store your tobacco where it could be contaminated by fumes or chemicals.

 

 

Can my tobacco be delivered?

 

We offer postal and courier services directly to your door for small additional costs. These costs will be quoted upon request of delivery.

 

 

Can i collect my tobacco?

 

Clients are more than welcome to arrange collection of their goods where they can view the tobacco and pay cash on collection. We must stress that clients will only be able to view the tobacco and will not be permitted to cut or smoke the leaves as a test before purchase.
